BSPU’s chancellor met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Azerbaijani Republic

On September 21st 2021 BSPU’s chancellor Alexander Ivanovich Zhuk met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Azerbaijani Republic to the Republic of Belarus Bakshaliev Ulvi Vagif Ogly.
In the spotlight was – cooperation between BSPU and Azerbaijani institutions. Alexander Ivanovich told about the opening of the Belarusian language and culture center on the base of Baku Slavic University and the Azerbaijani language and culture center on the base of BSPU. He also mentioned about the successful cooperation in the frames of international project “Belarusian and Azerbaijani languages as a factor for development and strengthening of cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan”. This project is realizing in accordance with an agreement between Belarusian Fundamental Researches Fund and Science Development Foundation under the guidance of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The guests were given Belarusian experience in the development of a system of career guidance - the creation of pedagogical classes in secondary schools, which attracts motivated young people to pedagogical specialties and is the key to successful training of future teachers. The chancellor stated, that this approach forms important qualities for a teacher such as love for kids and their job.
Alexander Ivanovich voiced the educational opportunities of BSPU for the I and II stages of higher education, postgraduate and doctoral studies and emphasized that the university is the basic organization of the CIS member states for the training, retraining and advanced training of teachers and specialists in the field of inclusive and special education, and also spoke about the opportunities for qualifications and internships improvement. He paid special attention to the development of education for sustainable development in BSPU, STEM education and the Belarusian model of vocational education.
During the meeting, the chancellor emphasized the importance of civic-patriotic education and introduced the guest to the BSPU brand - Star Treks.
Mr. Backshaliev thanked for the attention to the Azerbaijani language and culture and gave proposals for the development of academic mobility of the teaching stuff. He also assessed the novelty of the system of teaching orientation and shared Azerbaijani state system for teacher’s support. The Ambassador noted the importance of preserving the memory of the events of the common history and expressed interest in joint implementation of the project "Azerbaijanis in the Great Patriotic War on the territory of Belarus."
During the business visit of the diplomats, they got acquainted with the Azerbaijani language and culture center at BSPU. The head of the center Mamedova Shafiga presented main areas of work and ongoing activities such as: "Congress of Azerbaijanis in the Republic of Belarus", meetings of the Azerbaijan Youth Center and the club "Friends of Azerbaijan", as well as educational, methodological and scientific work to promote Azerbaijani language, literature and culture." An integral part of the work of the center was the holding of teleconferences between the Belarusian State Pedagogical University and the Baku Slavic University.
The Ambassador proposed to conduct joint events between the Embassy and Baku’s universities at the center, and said he is willing to help in the center’s future development.
