Polessky State University is a young modern university that promotes the creation of an innovative educational, scientific and cultural center in Polesye. The university is accredited and has certificates issued by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus for compliance with the view of a classical university; standard STB ISO 9001-2015. The university is accredited as a scientific organization in the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. Polessky State University is the holder of the Government Award for Excellence in Quality (2018, 2021).

 Polessky State University is the creator of an Innovative and industrial cluster in the field of biotechnologies and  "green economy" for scientific, scientific, technical, innovative and entrepreneurial activities aimed at sustainable growth of the new economy of Belarus and represented by 6 profiles: healthy lifestyle technologies; environmental management and climate management; biopreparations, BMPs and BAS; biotechnology in crop and livestock production; green economy; aquaculture.

The University, one of the first higher education institutions, organized a PINSKINVEST contest of student startup projects, which has become a traditional one, held twice a year. Many student projects have been commercialized.

 As of January 1, 2026, the university holds the 10504th position in the world in the Webometrics ranking. The repository of Polessky State University is among the top ten repositories, electronic archives, and electronic libraries in Belarus, holding the 8th position. In the global ranking, the university's repository is ranked 243rd among 3994 institutional repositories. According to the UniRank world ranking, Polessky State University takes 18th place among Belarusian universities and 6448 in the world ranking.

  Over the history of Polessky State University, 36 candidate and 7 doctoral dissertations were defended by graduates and university staff. The most talented graduates annually replenish the ranks of the university faculties, are awarded high awards and titles. Among them, I.G. Rebkovets, the mayor of the city of Pinsk; A.L. Ksenzov, Head of the Department of Economics and Finance of the RUE Management Company of the Holding “Agro-Industrial Holding Office of the President of the Republic of Belarus”;  Yu.V. Ignatenko, Head of the Department of Economics and Business of Polessky State University; V.V. Yarmosh , Assistant of the Department of Industrial Fisheries and Processing of Fish Products, Polessky State University,  who was awarded the gratitude of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus  in 2019 for his special contribution to the development of innovative and scientific activities; Kuhta T.A., international master of sports, member of the national rowing team of the Republic of Belarus, participant of the XXXI Summer Olympics and others.

The international activity of PolesSU is aimed at developing mutually beneficial cooperation of the university with foreign universities and organizations, ensuring its integration into the international academic space. The University has signed more than 100 contracts and agreements on cooperation with foreign educational institutions and organizations from 11 countries (Russia, China,Vietnam, Uzbekistan, etc.).

In order to increase the competitiveness in the international market of educational services Polessky State University is a member of international associations: Association of Universities of Professional Education of the three North-Eastern provinces and one region of China within the initiative "One Belt, One Road", Eurasian Association of Pedagogical Universities (EAPU), International Association of University Graduates of the Republic of Belarus,Scientific and Educational Consortium of Higher Education Institutions and Research Institutes of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan, Russian-Belarusian Union "Together" Consortium, Chinese-Belarusian Association of Universities.
