A Wide Range of Educational Programs

The university offers training in 71 bachelor’s degree programs, 5 integrated educational programs, and 49 master’s degree specialties with 93 profiles.

Adaptation Programs for International Students

Foreign nationals have the opportunity to undergo an adaptation program before enrolling at the university. The program is full-time and fee-based. Upon successfully passing the final examinations, students receive a certificate granting them the right to enroll in their chosen specialty at BSU or other universities in Belarus.
The preparatory department also offers Russian language courses for international specialists.

Student Self-Governance

BSU student organizations play an active role in implementing youth, educational, and social programs, supporting student employment, organizing leisure activities, providing social protection, and initiating numerous interesting events.

Accommodation in Student Dormitories

Students living in dormitories have access to all necessary conditions for leisure, cultural events, and sports activities. Facilities include common rooms, study rooms, and gyms equipped with modern fitness equipment and inventory.
Currently, the BSU Student Campus includes 9 student dormitories and one dormitory for university staff. The university campus consists of 10 comfortable buildings and 166 premises.

Employment Assistance

Job fairs are regularly held in cooperation with the Minsk City Executive Committee’s Department of Labor, Employment, and Social Protection, as well as local district administrations.
In the 2022–2023 academic year, 263 meetings with employers were organized to ensure collaboration in preparing young professionals in accordance with industry and regional needs.

Science and Innovation

BSU is the only university in Belarus with proprietary technologies for producing nanosatellites and automatic space-based Earth observation systems. In 2018 and 2023, BSU scientists successfully launched two unique satellites. Their functional capabilities open new opportunities for education and research in the aerospace field.

For the first time, BSU developed a method for producing pyrolytic carbon, a unique material with exceptional operational characteristics used for manufacturing heart valve prostheses.

The university also develops and produces effective chemotherapy drugs. The anti-cancer drug Cisplacel has been used in more than 3,000 surgical procedures.

BSU in Global Rankings

Among 30,000 universities worldwide, BSU ranks in the top 1% according to QS World University Rankings, U.S. News Best Global Universities, and many other international rankings.
BSU participates in 10 out of 16 global rankings listed by the International Ranking Expert Group (IREG), as well as in 15 subject rankings and 4 specialized rankings.

The BSU electronic library ranks second in the world among university repositories according to the Transparent Ranking of Repositories.

International Cooperation

BSU has 550 agreements with universities and organizations in 54 countries. The university is a member of 13 associations and networks, participates in over 30 educational projects, and implements 12 joint educational programs. The new BSU website is available in three languages: Russian, English, and Chinese.

The university also hosts representative offices of several foreign and international organizations.

BSU actively collaborates with numerous international academic networks and associations. It is one of the founding members of the Eurasian Association of Universities (EAU), serves as the coordinator for Belarus in the Central European Initiative University Network (CEI UniNet), and participates in the activities of the Belarusian Association for United Nations Support, the Inter-University Center for Research and Cooperation in Eastern and Southeastern Europe (CIRCEOS), the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (MAPRYAL), among others.
