Vitebsk state technical university has established fruitful bilateral relations with high profile international institutions of learning from 27 different countries. The university has a huge experience in training of specialists from different countries. Our main figures of this interview are Abdurakhim Hamdamov and Abdurozik Abdurozikov - citizens of a marvellous Republic of Tajikistan, a country that is famous for its rich history, cultural traditions and hospitality. One of the main priorities of the republic's economy is light and textile industries, which poses a high potential and sustainable pace of development.
Abdurahim and Abdurozik completed their studies at our university this year and received diplomas in the specialty "Production of textile materials." The graduates spoke about the choice of an educational institution, student years, professional plans and more.
Abdurakhim Hamdamov
Graduate of the faculty of manufacturing technology
Since my childhood, I dreamed of mastering the craft of hand weaving because my father and grandad dedicated their lives to this business. When it was my time to think carefully about my future career, I understood that I want to develop family business up to production scales, but it is necessary to receive specialized education at a trusted and prestigious university. It was my close acquaintance, who gave me an advice to choose Vitebsk State Technical University because there he acquired all the necessary skills. In 2016, I entered the VSTU at the Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies, specializing in the Production of Textile Materials, and I have never ever had any regrets.
Our classes were quite interesting and educating. Our teachers were willing to share their knowledge paying special attention to the development of professional knowledge. During the years of study at the Vitebsk State University of Technology, I acquired all the necessary skills to become a qualified specialist.
Of course, student time is not only textbooks and notes, but also creative, sports, and social activities. I took an active part in competitions, contests in the dormitory, visited the swimming pool and gym in the sports complex of the university. VSTU has created all the conditions for the versatile development of the individual.
Belarus delighted me with its beauty and picturesque nature. I happened to enjoy the main sights of the city of Minsk, Brest, Pinsk, learn about the unique history and traditions of the Belarusian people. Most of all in 4.5 years I fell in love with Vitebsk, which became my home. Cozy streets, convenient infrastructure, rich cultural life - here you can find everything you need for a comfortable stay. In Vitebsk, you do not feel like a guest.
The main personal wealth that I acquaired during the years at VSTU is definitely people. My classmates are all amazing, ready to communicate people with whom it was easy to get along. Our group was quite close and friendly. We were always ready to help each other regardless of the obstacles we face in our life. I am sure we will not lose each other and will keep close contacts despite the separating distance.
I am heartily thanking my alma mater for those unlimited abilities, base knowledge and priceless experience he gave. I am proud to be a graduate of VSTU. I will never ever forget my wonderful years

Every year in order to support talented and gifted youth the Ministry of education of the Republic of Tajikistan allows people to receive a scholarship for a foreign education. I chose to test my luck and sent the required documents and managed to pass through the exams. Several time after I saw my name in the candidates list and quickly understood the fact that it is my time to get a quality and modern education. After asking my family for an advice, I set my eyes on VSTU, specialty Production of Textile materials because this direction is quite demandable in Tajikistan.
When I came to study at VSTU, I immediately realized that I had made the right choice: I liked the atmosphere at the university, the friendly attitude of teachers and classmates, and interesting lectures. At first, it was difficult for me to keep up with the pace of learning of other students due to my insufficient level of Russian language, but I quickly improved my speaking skills, completely immersing myself in the language environment.
In addition to educational activities, I managed to achieve significant results in sports. I participated in competitions in Greco-Roman wrestling, arm wrestling. It is great that the university has a lot of opportunities to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
In Vitebsk, I feel at home. It is very comfortable here, quiet and calm, the only thing is that it is not so cold in my hometown, but I also managed to get used to this. Vitebsk is the cultural capital of Belarus, so the city often hosts various events. I visited the historical and art museums, was at the concert of the author's song, but the most large-scale and memorable event that I visited was, of course, the "Slavianski Bazaar". During the festival, exhibitions and theatrical performances are held right on the streets of the city, instrumental compositions and cheerful songs are heard from all over. Anyone who has not yet been to Vitebsk, I strongly recommend visiting this wonderful city.
I am grateful to Vitebsk State Technological University for the invaluable opportunity to get a decent education, broaden my horizons, and find true friends. This is an excellent platform for the realization of talents, ambitious goals and ideas. I recommend everyone who wants to become a true professional in their field to enter VSTU!
