BSU students became winners of the International Student Online Chemistry Olympiad

Students of the Faculty of Chemistry of BSU became winners of the International Student Internet Olympiad in Chemistry. Fourth-year student Maxim Sysoenkov and second-year student Kirill Moroz won diplomas of the first degree, gaining 71 and 62 points, respectively, out of 100 possible. According to the rating of winners, BSU chemists took the second and fourth places.
Natalya Boboriko, Associate Professor of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry, prepared the students of BSU.
This season, the maximum number of points (72) was scored by a representative of the Turkmen State University named for Magtymguly. In total, 16 participants were awarded the highest award. Diplomas of the second degree were won by 23 students with a range of points from 35 to 47. Diplomas of the third degree were awarded to 41 chemists who scored from 24 to 34 points.
In total, about 300 students from 80 universities of 22 countries became participants in the tournament: Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine, China, Hungary, USA, Austria, Spain, Italy, Malaysia, etc.
The individual tour was held in two categories. The first one (A) was for students specializing in the study of chemistry, the second one (B) united those for whom the subject is not a core one. BSU students performed in group A. Within three hours, the Olympiad participants had to solve 24 theoretical problems from different areas of chemistry.
The organizer of the online competition was the Turkmen State University named for Magtymguly. The Olympics ended on November 17th. It was held with the aim of strengthening friendly relations between students and teachers of universities from different countries, mutually beneficial exchange of information, research on theoretical and practical problems of modern science.
