BSU student won a gold medal on International taekwondo tournament

Aleksei Torchilo, a sophomore of the Faculty of Economics took first place on the International taekwondo tournament «Russian Open» 2022. Aleksei won after three successfull matches in 87+ weight category.
Russian sportsmans took second and third places respectively.
In total, the competition welcomed 1000 martial masters from Belarus, Russia, Iran, Brazil, India, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Serbia and Hohg-Kong.
The competition ended on 2nd of December in Krasnogorsk (Russia).

Taekwondo is one of the martial arts, originating in Korea. One of its distinct features is a rapid system of leg kicks. In Belarus taekwondo began to spread in the end of 1980s. Its emergence is linked to Alexander Botkin - a talented self-master who trained first Belarusian martial masters.
