Start of the English-language program for foreign first-year students

On November 9, at the Faculty of International Economic Relations of the Belarusian State Economic University, a new english-language program for first-stage students majoring in World Economy was launched. 18 students from the People's Republic of China became its listeners for the next few years.
Olga Anatolyevna MOROZEVICH, Vice-Rector for academic affairs, delivered a welcoming speech to the new students. She greeted those present on behalf of the leadership and stressed that this project is significant for both students and the university. Dean of the FIER Oksana Nikolaevna SHKUTKO, speaking to the audience, said that her faculty was pleased with the replenishment and wished those present good luck in their studies. The head of the educational and methodological department for coordinating the education of foreign citizens Elena Vladimirovna KOLYADA and the deputy dean of the FIER Elena Aleksandrovna GARASHCHENKO advised the children not only to study well, but also to travel around the country, get acquainted with our language and culture during the time they spend in Belarus. To improve communication, this group will have its own curator - assistant of the Department of World Economy Viktoria Alexandrovna ZAKHAROVA, who speaks Chinese and English.
For this meeting, FIER students prepared presentations about the university and their faculty, shared their impressions of student life at BSEU, talked about internal regulations and student self-government bodies. At the end of the colorful presentations, the projector presented each student with small souvenirs. All those present expressed their hope for the success of the project and the further development of English-language education at BSEU.
The start of the educational process on this day is quite symbolic both for Chinese students and for the Faculty of International Economic Relations. The number "9" in the Chinese tradition means immortality, longevity, happiness, the beginning of something new and large-scale, and the motto of the faculty is translated as "Once and for all." Let it be so: the started project will receive a long development prospect, and the education received by the students will become the basis for a successful and happy life!
