Almost 80 scientists will discuss topical issues of archeology at the Belarusian State University
The international scientific conference "Archaeology of Belarus and adjacent territories: people and things" will open on October 5 at BSU (36 Mendeleev St., room 306). Start at 10.00. The event will be held in a distance face-to-face format.
The dean of the Faculty of History of BSU Alexander Kokhanovsky will make a welcoming speech.
Within three days, about 80 scientists, historians, museum employees from Belarus and Russia will be participating in the scientific forum. These are representatives of the Belarusian State University, Grodno State University named after Yanka Kupala, Mogilev State University named after A.A. Kuleshov, Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Novgorod State University named after Yaroslav the Wise, Bryansk State University named after academician I.G. Petrovsky, the Smolensk State Museum-Reserve, the State Hermitage Museum (St. Petersburg), etc.
Within the framework of five thematic sections, experts will present the latest results of interdisciplinary research and consider modern approaches to the study of archaeological artifacts, as well as discuss topical issues in the archeology of the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages, the Middle Ages and the Post-Middle Ages.
A separate section for students is also planned, where students will present their research papers.
Following the results of the work of scientists, it is planned to publish a collection of reports with subsequent placement in the Electronic Library of the Belarusian State University.
