From February 27 to March 3, the International Sinology Week was held at the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture. The program of the event included a number of important events for everyone interested in studying the Celestial Empire.
The International Sinology Week at the Minsk State Linguistic University was rich and productive, the time of which coincided with the official visit of the President of the country A.G. Lukashenko to the People's Republic of China, which, of course, added impetus and significance to the work of the organizers of the week. The program of events began with a lecture marathon, which was opened by a visiting professor - Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Sinology, Chief Researcher of the Laboratory of Frontier Studies of the Amur State University (Blagoveshchensk, Russia) Sergey Vladimirovich Filonov. The largest Russian daologist introduced students and teachers to the traditional picture of the world of Chinese civilization through the prism of popular religion, spoke in detail about the foundations of Confucianism and Taoism. The lecture marathon continued with unique lectures by Doctor of Philosophy, Leading Researcher of the China Department of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Leading Researcher of the Center for the Study of Chinese Culture of the Institute of China and Modern Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow, Russia) Belaya Irina Vitalievna, who presented her scientific research about the female mastery of inner alchemy through a detailed study of the Sun Buer tradition in Taoism. The key event was the holding of the X International Scientific Conference "Chinese Civilization in the Dialogue of Cultures". Suffice it to say that 12 doctors and 42 candidates of sciences, as well as teachers, graduate students, undergraduates, students and pupils of the Linguistics and Humanities College took part in it. The wide geography of the conference, which covered Taiwan, Moscow, Minsk, Riga, St. Petersburg, Blagoveshchensk, Vitebsk, Vladivostok, Gomel, Irkutsk, Ryazan, allowed the participants to test the results of their research to the maximum and get an assessment of the work of the leading scientists of the most authoritative oriental studies schools. The closing concert, prepared by the students of the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture of MSLU, and the tour "Minsk - Hero City" completed the work of the conference and allowed our guests to get to know the university and the capital of the Republic of Belarus. The final event of the International Sinology Week was the 1st International Youth Sinological Forum, at which the Rector of MSLU Lapteva Natalia Evgenievna, Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Klishevich Sergei Mikhailovich, First Secretary of the Central Committee "Belarusian Republican Youth Union", member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Lukyanov Alexander Sergeevich. As Natalya Evgenievna noted in her speech, “In the year of the 75th anniversary of the university, we are starting a new tradition of holding the International Youth Sinological Forum. I hope that many young researchers use this platform to discuss the history, economy, language, culture of ancient and modern China.”
