A week of India will be held at BSU

The week of India will be held at BSU. The start of the thematic event will be given by the visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Alok Ranjan Jha. The distinguished guest will visit the Faculty of Social and Cultural Communications (FSCC) on 12 December (5 Kurchatova Street, room 115). The beginning is at 11.00. The meeting will be held with the participation of the leadership of BSU, deans, teachers and students of the university. First-year students of the Faculty of Philology Yana Akimova and Vladislav Petrashko, a sophomore of this faculty Elizaveta Zinkova will perform a national song and dance. A video project about friendly relations between Belarus and India will be presented by students of the Faculty of Social and Cultural Communications. In addition, poems in Hindi will be performed by international students.
The faculty's guests will also be shown a multifunctional cabinet of Indian culture, founded in 2020 with the support of the Embassy of India in Belarus. Classes on the study of Hinglish, representing the symbiosis of English and various languages of India, videoconferences, thematic lectures, meetings and cultural events are held here, the Indian Cinema Center works. Students of the Department of Communicative Design of FSCC worked on the development of the cabinet design and its implementation. The concept is based on the idea of geographical, cultural diversity and contrasts of India. The future designers painted the walls in different Indian styles, conveyed the exoticism, brightness and flavor of this country.
In the hall of the faculty, a treat with Indian tea and dessert is organized for visitors on this day.
The next day, 13 December, will be Indian Cinema Day. The documentary film «Reed Pipe of Eternity» will be shown at the FSCC. The film is dedicated to the work of the Indian writer, poet, composer, artist and public figure Rabindranath Tagore. The translation of the film from English into Russian was made by students of the FSCC on the order of the Embassy of India. Also, screenings of Indian films are scheduled at all faculties of the university during the week.
On the same day, 13 December, an exhibition of paintings by design students of BSU will open in the building of the Rector's office (5a Bobruiskaya Street).
