Minsk State Linguistic University took part in the 11th annual seminar "Multilingualism in the work of the UN and ensuring high-quality Russian translation in this context" in Moscow (Russian Federation)
On December 14, 2022 a delegation representing MSLU went to Moscow in order to take part in the 11th annual workshop "Multilingualism in the work of the UN and ensuring high-quality Russian translation in this context".
This workshop was organized by the UN Information center and it was attended by the representatives of the Department of the General Assembly and Conference Management of the United Nations (UN offices in New York, Geneva and Vienna), the FAO Russian Translation Section, the Department of Linguistic Support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the largest translation companies in Russia and leading universities of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, carrying out training of translators, such as:

Universities signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the UN Secretariat in the field of training professionals in interpretation and translation for subsequent work in international organizations.
The seminar program included issues of staffing and the specifics of the work of Russian translation services in the New York and European headquarters of the UN; advanced training of employees of these services; organization of full-time internships for students and teachers in the UN services; conducting master classes and consultations before exams in interpretation and translation in an online format; the quality of training of translators for international organizations by universities; methodology and practice of teaching; features of the use of educational Internet portals for the effective training of translators.
