The two-day international scientific and practical conference «Art and the Modern City» will start its work on 3 October in Minsk. The venue for the forum will be «Art Factory» (2, Sverdlova street). The beginning is at 10.00. The purpose of the scientific meeting is to exchange experience between scientists, teachers, representatives of the professional community on issues related to the latest trends in the study of the relationship between urbanism and art.
The conference will be attended by about 20 scientists, university professors, architects, art historians, critics, cultural scientists from Belarus, Russia and Armenia. The speakers of the forum will present their reports in four thematic sections: «Urbanism and the New Era», «Art space and hidden meaning», «City, heritage, emotional world», «City and Art». Experts will discuss digital architectural visualization, transformation of public spaces of Belarusian cities, modern sculpture in urban space and its role in shaping the artistic image of the urban environment, medieval Armenian cultural memory on the example of Yerevan, etc.
The exhibition «Axes of Existence II» will also be held as part of the scientific event. The exhibition will be attended by famous contemporary artists, designers, including Gennady Kozel, Natalia Rachkovskaya, Dmitry Oganov, Ales Rodin, Ivan Semiletov, Ripsime Gevorkian, Maxim Petrul, Kristina Melnik-Subtelnaya, etc. Students-laureates of the Department of Arts and Environmental Design of BSU and other universities and colleges will also present their works.
Following the results of the two-day work, it is planned to publish a collection of reports with subsequent placement in the Electronic Library of BSU.
The event is organized by the Faculty of Social and Cultural Communications of BSU with the support of the Art Factory Gallery, the Belarusian Union of Architects, etc.
