10 August 2026

The delegation included the rector of Bukhara State University, Obidjon Khamidov, the rector of Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute, Bahodir Ma'murov, and the vice-rector for International Cooperation at Bukhara State Medical Institute, Laziz Niyazov, along with staff members from these institutions. The meeting took place today, 29 July, and was attended by Andrei Karol, Rector of BSU. The BSU delegation also included Victar Kochyn, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and International Education; Alena Kolmakova, Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Geoinformatics; and Dmitrii Ushakov, Dean of the Faculty of Radiophysics and Computer Technologies.

The delegation's agenda focused on exchanging best practices in education and discussing future academic and scientific cooperation. The guests learned about BSU’s structure, traditions, global ranking positions, and international student accommodations. They were also briefed on the university’s primary research areas and competitive strategic advantages. In turn, the Uzbek delegation shared insights into their national education system and the strategic priorities of their home institutions.
The participants outlined a series of proposals to establish long-term cooperation, including joint master’s degree programmes, expanded academic mobility, and collaborative research initiatives. These efforts will span various academic disciplines, including mathematics, biology, law, artificial intelligence, physics, psychology, education, history, and chemistry.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to review the proposed initiatives in the near future to map out their implementation.
