BNTU and Navoi State University have outlined plans to expand cooperation

28 August 2026

Today, on August 24, a working meeting was held at BNTU to discuss the development and expansion of areas of international cooperation with Navoi State University.

The negotiations were attended by Sodik Khuzhzhiev, Vice‑Rector of Navoi State University, Timur Matyushinets, Vice‑Rector for Ideological and Educational Work at Belarusian National Technical University, and Nikolai Vishnyakov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of International Cooperation.

- Our university is one of the largest regional education centres: it has 9 faculties and about 15,000 students. Our region has a large number of major industrial enterprises that require highly qualified specialists,- the Vice‑Rector of NavSU emphasized.
Sodik Khuzhzhiev also spoke about the university’s innovations that require international expertise and partnership. For example, last year, new training profiles were launched: economic, technical, and agricultural.

In addition, during the negotiations, the parties discussed plans for training under joint educational programs. Special attention was paid to issues related to the practical training of future specialists. The meeting participants discussed the “2+2” training format in detail, considering which disciplines would be taught at NavSU and which stages of training students would complete at BNTU.

Nikolai Vishnyakov spoke about the winter and summer schools at BNTU. Such events help foreign students adapt quickly and provide a step‑by‑step introduction to the university. The deputy dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics also mentioned the academic mobility of the university’s teaching staff as an opportunity to involve teachers from the Belarusian university in teaching courses at NavSU.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed confidence in launching joint programmes as early as the upcoming academic year and outlined a plan for further cooperation.
