BSU will establish cooperation with Jordanian institutions

BSU will establish cooperation with Jordanian institutions. This was a key topic during the official visit of the delegation led by chancellor Andrei Korol to the Hashimit Kingdom of Jordan.
During the visit to the Jordan University the parties discussed joint educational programs in the fields of tourism, international relatons, law and economy and training of arabian language teachers. Jordan University is the leading and oldest one in the country. The parties also discussed ways of cooperation. Such initiatives as organising guest lections of the jordani specialists in teaching arabian language and culture and internships for BSU's arabist students called mutual interest among the participants. Prospects are open in the field of natural science partnership. The parties also noted that such factors as practice-oriented advanced training courses, training in English-language master's programs in cybersecurity, information and aerospace technologies will help to boost competiteveness of the Jordani specialists.
The program of the visit to Jordan also included negotiations with the leadership of a number of universities. Here the subject areas of joint scientific projects were determined, the possibility of organizing internships and preparing publications was discussed. By the way, the Al-Balqa University of Applied Sciences is interested in joint research in the field of IT and contract development of electronics, and the Princess Sumaya University of Technology is interested in implementing joint projects for additional adult education.
To promote the educational services of BSU, the Belarusian delegation held talks with the representative of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jordan Nabulsi Abdel Salam, representatives of the Association of Graduates of Belarusian and Soviet Higher Educational Institutions and the Cultural and Educational Association of Belarusians in Jordan.
Also, at all sites of Jordanian universities during the visit of the Belarusian delegation, the thematic exposition "Open Days of BSU" was operating. Here they presented educational and scientific activities, information about specialties and prospects for studying at BSU.
An important step for the development of educational and cultural ties between the two countries was the visit of the BSU delegation to the National Library of Jordan (NLJ). Book exchange, electronic delivery of documents, creation of a collection on education, science and culture of Belarus were analyzed in detail during the negotiations. The result of the meeting was an agreement to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between BSU and NLJ in the near future. This document will strengthen the authority of the scientific publications of the two countries.
The official visit of the BSU delegation to Jordan takes place from 14 to 18 November.
