BSU activates cooperation with institutions of Azerbaijan
An important step for the implementation of the stated intentions was the signing of a cooperation agreement with Baku State University, the oldest and leading university in Azerbaijan. Today it includes 16 faculties of various profiles, two scientific institutes and the Confucius Institute.
The contract prescribes agreements in the field of education and science. In particular, the parties agreed to implement joint projects in the scientific, educational and cultural spheres, develop publication partnership, academic scientific and cultural mobility, exchange information, students, researchers, teachers. The plan also includes the joint organization of conferences, exhibitions, seminars, symposiums and other events in various areas. The document provides for the implementation of joint research projects, the development of joint educational programs, courses and curricula, cooperation in the field of scientific management of master students and postgraduates.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged promising proposals for the implementation of key provisions of the document. It was about conducting narrow-profile scientific research with the mutual use of laboratory bases, etc.
Currently, agreements on cooperation and exchange of students with ADA University (Baku) have been in force between BSU and scientific and educational institutions of Azerbaijan since 2019. Last year, the International Sakharov Environmental Institute of BSU signed a cooperation agreement with the Khazar University (Baku) and an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation with the Research Institute of Animal Husbandry of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Two joint projects have been submitted for participation in the competition of joint scientific projects for 2022-2023, announced by the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus and Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences: the Institute fo Nuclear Problems and the Institute of Physics of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences; the Faculty of Chemistry and the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry named after academician Murtuza Naghiyev of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
Currently, six Azerbaijani students are studying at BSU, and President Ilham Aliyev has been an Honorary Professor of BSU since 2009.
