December 1 - World AIDS Day
27 December 2022
On December 1, on annual basis, the whole world conducts profilactic events in the frames of World campaign against HIV-infection dedicated to the World AIDS day.World AIDS Day, designated on 1 December every year since 1988, is an international day initiated by the World Health Organisation and dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV-virus and mourning those who have died of the disease. This day has become one of the most important international days associated with raising awareness and celebrating achievements in the field of HIV prevention and expanding access to treatment.
As part of the day of the fight against AIDS, students of the Pavel Sukhoi university held a flash mob, lining up in the form of a red ribbon, which is a symbol of the fight against HIV infection, including AIDS, and denoting support, compassion and hope for an AIDS-free future. We thank students of the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology (groups TM-11, RT-11, GA-11, RT-21) for their participation.
In hostel No. 1, employees of the social-pedagogical and psychological services held an event dedicated to the topic "Time for equality". After four decades of fighting HIV, disparities in the availability of tests, medicines, new technologies and scientific data continue to exist in Africa and Asia. The problem of the spread of HIV infection remains one of the medical and social global challenges faced by all states without exception.
During the action, the children pinned red ribbons on an interactive poster, took part in a quiz and tested their knowledge on this topic, took pictures with hashtags and received handouts that help raise public awareness, which affects the elimination of inequality and the possibility of ending the pandemic.
