Accommodation
International students in Belarus live in university dormitories or rent apartments.

Dormitories
Almost all universities provide dormitories for their international students. Typically, about 65% of the housing stock consists of 3-4-person rooms with a shared kitchen and bathroom. There are also block-type dormitories with a kitchen and bathroom shared between two rooms. The furniture in dormitory rooms includes: a bed, a chair, a desk, a built-in wardrobe, and bookshelves. Dormitories often have gyms, recreation rooms, cafeterias, libraries, and a security service.
Payment for dormitory accommodation is not included in the tuition fee!
In dormitories, students must adhere to certain rules. The obvious ones include: not damaging furniture, maintaining cleanliness in the rooms, not making noise (e.g., not playing music or TV loudly), not smoking in living rooms or common areas, not consuming alcohol, and informing the dormitory supervisor about departures. A detailed memo on the dormitory rules is provided upon check-in. To find out if the university has dormitories and whether you can expect a place, you should inquire with your university representatives at the stage of submitting a preliminary application for studies or check the university's website.
Find out all the necessary information in advance:
- Location of the dormitory
- Room types (double, single), availability of amenities
- Cost and payment options
Only after making sure everything suits you, submit an application for accommodation.
Note! Only representatives of the university where you are studying can arrange your dormitory placement based on a rental agreement. Companies or intermediaries offering dormitory rooms are fraudsters.
All students living in a dormitory are required to undergo a medical examination at the student clinic (this is a paid service) and submit a certificate of completion of the medical examination within 3 working days from the date of signing the study contract.
If, for any reason, the university dormitory is not suitable for you, then you need to look for a rented apartment or room. This will be more expensive, but you will be able to choose the location, level of comfort, and even your neighbors. In this case, the foreign citizen independently searches for housing and must provide the university with the landlord's contact phone number.
